The department hosted a successful workshop titled, Statistical Inference for Biomedical Big Data, on April 7th and 8th. The workshop brought together prominent statisticians to discuss and foster the cutting –edge developments of statistical theory, methods, and tools for biomedical big data analysis.
Dr. Susmita Datta, Professor in the Department of Biostatistics, recently had her book, "Statistical Analysis of Proteomics, Metabolomics, and Lipidomics Data Using Mass Spectrometry", published by Springer. This book presents an overview of computational and statistical design and analysis of mass spectrometry-based proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics data.
Statistical Inference for Biomedical Big Data April 7 & 8, 2017 This workshop, which is to bring together some prominent statisticians in the field of biomedical big data and some local biomedical researchers, will provide a platform for the development of new statistical theory and methodology for biomedical big data as well as interdisciplinary interactions.
