Successful Biostatistics Workshop

The department hosted a successful workshop titled, Statistical Inference for Biomedical Big Data, on April 7th and 8th. The workshop brought together prominent statisticians to discuss and foster the cutting –edge developments of statistical theory, methods, and tools for biomedical big data analysis.

Dr. Susmita Datta: Book Publication

Dr. Susmita Datta, Professor in the Department of Biostatistics, recently had her book, "Statistical Analysis of Proteomics, Metabolomics, and Lipidomics Data Using Mass Spectrometry", published by Springer. This book presents an overview of computational and statistical design and analysis of mass spectrometry-based proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics data.

UF Plays Key Role in Trial for Successful Ebola Vaccine

Researchers at the University of Florida have played an integral role in the vaccine trial’s execution, finding that it is 100 percent effective at preventing Ebola when given 10 or more days prior to exposure to the deadly virus.

Aspen Institute Italia Award Winner: Dr. Ira Longini

Dr. Ira Longini, Professor in the Department of Biostatistics, along with a team of Italian and American researchers, is an Aspen Institute Italia Award recipient. This award recognizes a significant research contribution in the field of natural, theoretical or applied sciences produced jointly by scientists from Italy and the U.S.

Recording Begins for New Online MS in Biostatistics!

The Department of Biostatistics is pleased to announce we are now recording MS courses in our campus program! This footage will be used to begin developing video content for the new online Master of Science program in Biostatistics.

Isaac Sia, MPH Biostatistics Alumnus, Receives PhD

Congratulations to UF Master of Public Health (MPH) alumnus, Isaac Sia, who graduated in Spring 2016 earning a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Science in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences of the UF College of Public Health and Health Professions.
