Professional Biography

Amy Cantrell is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics. She was inducted into Delta Omega (Beta Upsilon Chapter) in 2012 and received the PHHP Superior Accomplishment Award in 2013 as well as MPH Faculty Excellence Award in 2011 and 2014. Amy is originally from South Carolina where she earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science in Mathematics from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. In 1996, she enrolled at the University of Florida and received her Ph.D. in Statistics in 2001. She began working at Central Florida Community College in 1999 where she was employed until August 2008. She teaches a variety of graduate level statistics courses each term. Her experience and interest are in educating students and professionals from other backgrounds on the use of statistics.
