On April, 29, 2017, the department hosted its annual spring picnic. All department faculty, staff, students, visitors and their families were invited to attend. The turnout for the picnic was great with over 60% of the department present.
This year the picnic took place at Drs. Somnath and Susmita Datta’s home here in Gainesville, Florida. The same as prior years, the potluck buffet proved to be a huge success with an endless number of international dishes.
The weather was fantastic and the company even better. Not only was this a good time for all departmental associates to mingle, it was also a great opportunity for families to meet one another.
The department looks forward to next year’s event.
